All vacation-bound family man Chet Ripley (John Candy) wants is to relax and spend some quality time with his family. But when his obnoxious brother-in-law Roman Craig (Dan Aykroyd) shows up unannounced and uninvited with his kooky family in tow, the result is anything but restful. It's a vacationer's worst nightmare when each of Chet's plans for rest and relaxation is ruined by his oblivious in-law.
